A quick introduction
Fixt ranges freelancers with a passion for hospitality for restaurants, festivals, and all other hospitality venues.
The staffing platform, with its office in the heart of De Pijp in Amsterdam, knows the hospitality world, understands what freelancers value, and found the ideal partner in Finqle to support that.
We asked the two young entrepreneurial owners about their story.
Like a rocket
Founders David Schrofer and Aris van Eerdenburg have achieved a lot quickly. Fixt was only founded at the end of 2022, but it's already proving that the approach and strategy are working.
For David, this comes as no surprise:
"We've known the hospitality world for years, we understand the freelancers because we've worked with them in other roles, and together with Aris, I had already run a successful business before."
Young entrepreneurs who found each other again
The two entrepreneurs recently reconnected, but they have known each other for much longer. Aris explains:
"We already had a business together at a young age, as resellers of limited-edition sneakers. It went well, so we quickly scaled it up and expanded."
When other activities came along, the two went their separate ways for a while. Until they ran into each other again and wanted to work towards new success.
"That was actually very coincidental, and we only needed half a word," David says enthusiastically. "We agreed to fully commit, so we set aside our other work and spent months working full-time on Fixt."
And with success, because now there is a platform for hospitality businesses and freelancers that offers the quality both parties need.
For freelancers with a passion for hospitality
David worked for years as a manager and business leader in the hospitality industry.
"Because of that, I know the hospitality industry well, especially in and around Amsterdam. I worked with chefs, bar staff, hostesses, and others, who increasingly opted for a freelance life. That helped them earn more, but it brought various practical issues with it.
There are, of course, a lot of things to consider when freelancing. That’s why Aris and I came up with the idea to offer freelancers full support. For example, we have a partnership with an accounting firm where freelancers can go for their tax affairs, and now also a partnership with Finqle, which ensures freelancers no longer have to send invoices."
That has become the focus of Fixt. Aris explains:
"We select freelancers with a passion for hospitality. That’s why we ask for references, check them if we have doubts, and always invite everyone to our office in De Pijp for an introduction. This way, we get a good sense of what really motivates someone and what they can bring to a hospitality business."
In this way, Fixt creates a strong match for the client and a positive environment for the freelancer.
"Fixt is now active at locations like Dekmantel, Best Kept Secret, and Lentekabinet, as well as HotMamaHot Catering and nightclubs like Skatecafé, Nachbar, and restaurants like Gertrude in Amsterdam. We consistently select the freelancers that best fit, for the best match with our clients."
